How to play
Every case has a few facts the police checked and three suspects telling their story. One story can't be true. Find it.
The rules
- Read the facts. They are always true. The police checked them.
- Read each suspect's story. Two of them fit the facts. One of them doesn't.
- Tap the liar. Pick the suspect whose story breaks a fact, then confirm.
Be quick and don't use hints to earn all 3 stars. After every case the game explains which fact the liar broke, so even a wrong guess teaches you something.
An example case
The Missing Cupcakes. A box of cupcakes vanished from the school kitchen. The police checked three facts:
- The kitchen door was locked at 3 PM.
- It rained hard all afternoon.
- The cupcakes were last seen at 2 PM.
Rosa the cook says she locked the kitchen at three and went home with her umbrella. Leo the teacher says he was marking tests in his classroom until four. Mia the student says she played football outside all afternoon and the sun was shining.
Who's lying? Mia. It rained hard all afternoon, so there was no sunshine for her football game. Rosa's story fits the locked door and the rain, and Leo's story doesn't break any fact.
Ways to play
- Daily Case: 5 new cases every day, the same for every player. Keep your streak going and share your result.
- Case of the Week: each Daily from Monday to Saturday gives you one clue to a bigger case with 8 suspects. On Sunday you get one try to name the mastermind.
- Night Shift: one hard bonus case every evening from 8 PM. One try only.
- Career: endless chapters of 10 cases that get harder as you go, with up to 3 stars for each case.
- Rush: catch as many liars as you can before the clock runs out. You have 3 lives, and a combo makes every catch worth more.
Twist cases
Some cases flip the rules, and the case tells you when:
- Two are lying: find the only suspect who tells the truth.
- Everyone is honest: all three stories are true, so one of the "facts" must be fake. Find it.
Tips for catching liars
- Check every story against every fact, one at a time. The lie is always a clear clash with a fact, never a guess about someone's character.
- Watch for times, weather, places and who had a key. Those are the details liars get wrong.
- A story that sounds odd isn't automatically a lie. Only a broken fact counts.
- Stuck? The Magnifier hint points you in the right direction, but it costs your third star.
